Definition:
- Descentralized global network, formed by direct connections between computers and other devices.
- Important part of everyone life for people around the world.
- It ’s a net where you can get all the information possible, you can communicate with anyonelse trough social media, it allows you to have many webs in what offers many products and services, you can manage your bank account and million things more.
Access to Internet
- The world is made up of 7.91 billions of total population and 4.95 billion of them are internet users. This numbers mean, that the internet users as percentafe of population is 62.5%(Datareportal, 2022).
- As we can see in figure 1, Northen and Wester Europe have highest internet adoption according to the percentage of the total population with 98% and 94% respectivaly.
Internet Speed
- Internet speed evolves yearly with the introduction of new technologies; broadband speeds have increased exponentially from 16 Mbps to 2 Gbps. The predicted future will include internet speeds of 10 Gbps with lower latency, greater capacity, and higher reliability.
- Figuere 3, shows global average internet speed, as we can see from the graph fixed broad band has the fastest internet speed compare with mobile. mobile phone are the favorutie ones in compare with fixed broadband.
Internet Distribution
- According to this statistic of 2022, we can see that internet users between the ages of 15 to 24 were highest in Europe, followed by America and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Younger people had the highest internet user penetration rate than people of 25 years old and older.
Digital Devices used by audience
- 92.3% of Internet users access the web through their mobile phones. Laptops are the second most used device, followed by tablets.
- The most common type of online activity is entertainment (gaming, music, social media, and online video content), followed by e-commerce activities like buying products and services online.
How consumers search for information
Threare are different types of keywords to search for information.
- Informational: normally take the form of question keyword like “what”, “why”, “how”. like: what is the difference between cold brew and iced coffe.
- Navigational: people already know the company or product and just search an specific site or page. like: youtube
- Commercial: searchers want to investigate brands or products. People wants to check reviews, compare products or look for disccounts. like: free coffe
- Transactional: searchers wants to complete an actions. like: buy crypto online
- According to DataReportal, Chrome is the most used web traffic by browser with 64.06% followed by Safari with 19.22%.
What consumers buy online
- In this figure we can see the annual spend in each consumer goods ecommerce category in 2022. The largest selling category was electronics with a totally of 988.4 billion. The category that had the highest growth with an increase of 38% over the past year is food, spending 376.6 billion dollars.
Online video consumption
- Today there is many different choices and options for online video consumption. Mobile phones allow users to easily watch content they want through apps like netflix, youtube and live stream platforms.
- According to online consumption statistics, 91.9% of users watch digital videos online. The most popular online video content is music videos, comedy, meme, or viral videos , tutorial or how to do video, and video livestream.
