Hello. My name is Cristina and I am going to present my Assignment number 5 about Inbound and Social Media Marketing. Social media marketing is the practice of using social media platforms and tools to promote business and connect with existing and potential costumers. It its a very important technique because it humanise your business, generate leads and costumers and increase brand awareness. 


In this presentation I am going to explain some effective examples of Social Media Marketing techniques of travel agencies. 


One of the most successful are the reviews from Trip Advisor. It’s one of the most used platforms for reviews and opinions of members about destinations, accommodations and activities. This technique demonstrate how significant review can be when influencing booking decisions as people trust other people’s first hand experiences. Consistency in the reviews is essential for travellers to make decisions. 


Another technique is from Visit Scotland. They are popular on Instagram with 1.6 Million followers. Their audience has the opportunity to share their content about Scotland through using hashtags. The most popular hashtag #VisitScotland got 4.6M posts and the second #ScotlandIsCalling has 61.4K posts. That is a great strategy to interact with the audience and build a big community by sharing their experiences. 

 

Laura Mitchell, the PR Manager of Visit Scotland confirm that the 92% of consumers trust earned media above all other advertising. They use a creative way to use real people’s memories and experience of being in Scotland. 

Another example of effective technique is through Influencer Marketing on Social Media. The travel agency "My Adventure Project" worked in partnership with Lydia Violeta, a traveler vlogger with 250k subscribers on YouTube. Her video shows her week trip to Australia. The vlogger shows the viewers the experience they can get if they contract the agency's services. This strategy is a great example of how to build new potential customers through the trust and credibility of the influencer. 


This three examples are more effective than the other ones presented on the Assignment number 5. The fact is people trust other people’s opinions and experiences and they love to know about the services of the travel agencies through dynamic and natural videos from bloggers on Youtube, positive and consistent reviews and being part of a social media community.
